Castelo Sao Jorge

A short walk down the stairs out the front of the apartment building takes you to the Praça da Figueira where you can sit and have a drink in the square and watch the world go by. This is also where the closest Metro station is situated which gives you access to the entire city and surrounding beach towns.

The Castelo Sao Jorge is located within 5 minutes walk of the apartment. Sitting on the hill top overlooking the centre of Lisbon it is one of the must see sites of the city. (http://www.castelosaojorge.egeac.pt)

There is an abundance of golf course around the city with such as: Lisbon Sports Club, Golf do Estoril and Qunita de Marina.

Fado is the traditional folk music of Portugal and it is highly recommended to visit one of the local establishments such as Restaurante O Forcado.

A favourite place to go for a drink at sunset is what we affectionately call the "Lisbon Beach": 5 minutes walk from the apartment on top of the Mercado do Chão do Loureiro is the O Terraco which is a large terrace that looks out over the city.

Getting Around

Public transport is easy to use and is also very close. Rossio underground station is just down the hill and can take you all over the city and also to the beaches.

Buy a Lisboa Viva Card and add some money to it electronically at the station, this will allow you to travel on all buses and trains. Click here to find out more.
